Pick Your Fill Of Apples At Fifer Orchards In Delaware

'Tis the season for pumpkin spice, sweet cider, and fall foliage... and, if you happen to live in Delaware, it's time to plan a trip to Camden-Wyoming. Fifer Orchards has been an established u-pick orchard for years, and until the end of October, you can go collect your own peck bags of ripe, juicy apples.

Fifer Orchards is a fourth generation family farm that's been growing delicious produce for a century.

The property is located in the tiny town of Wyoming.

In addition to its abundant orchards, Fifer also has a fully stocked farm store for your convenience.

You'll find plenty of freshly picked produce and other essentials inside.

The farm got its start 100 years ago, when Charles Frederick Fifer moved his family from Virginia to the farm lands of Kent County to pursue his passion, growing high quality fruits and vegetables.

The climate in the area is ideal for growing all kinds of fruits and veggies, ranging from peaches and berries to apples, pumpkins, and asparagus. The family still honors Charles' vision today.

So how does the apple picking work? Luckily, it's pretty simple.

Picking hours are from 10-5 each Saturday from August 24 through October 26. The cost is $20, which includes a tractor and wagon ride to and from the orchard as well as a peck bag full of apples. The price is not per person, it's per bag. This means you can share a bag with a friend, your other half, or your family. You can also purchase as many bags as you'd like, for $20 each.

Fifer Orchards also sells plenty of just-picked apples for those who would rather let someone else do the picking.

Treat yourself to some fresh cider and some delicious apple cider donuts while you're there -- they're only available for a limited time.
