This Lively Delaware Crab Shack In The Middle Of Nowhere Is The Best Place For A Waterfront Meal
Delaware’s crab season starts this spring, with Sambo’s in Leipsic being a top destination for fresh crabs and a lively atmosphere.
Delaware's crab season is kicking off this spring, and those of us who have been waiting all winter for fresh catch are counting down! There are bushels of crab shacks worth visiting throughout the state, but if you're a true aficionado, chances are Sambo's in Leipsic is high on your list.
This legendary crab shack, Sambo's, is scheduled to open as early as April 3, 2019.
Inside you'll find a classic crab shack environment, with newspaper lined tabletops and pitchers of beer everywhere you look. You'll get carded at the door, because this restaurant and bar is 21+ only.
One thing you'll be sure to notice is that the crabs are almost unbelievably fresh. Look out back to find out why! The boats come in with crabs several times a day.
No wonder these are the best crabs in Delaware! They're perfectly seasoned and always plump.
The menu has more than just Delaware Bay crabs. Enjoy tasty hush puppies, clams, oysters, crab cakes, and enormous dungeness crab legs, too.
This lively bar is sure to be your favorite summertime crab picking spot, but be ready for a crowd if you stop by on the weekends.
So go on, make plans to meet at Sambo's and enjoy a drink and some crab picking with your closest friends.
You can find Sambo's at 283 Front St, Leipsic, DE 19901. They're scheduled to open for the season on April 3, 2019, but be sure to call ahead at (302) 674-9724 or check their Facebook before making the drive.
