You May Not Like These Predictions About Delaware’s Brutally Snowy Upcoming Winter

The Farmer's Almanac announces their winter forecast in August, and this year the predictions for Delaware are in. While there's nothing prettier than a gorgeous snowscape, many Delawareans aren't going to be thrilled with what the Farmer's Almanac says about the 2017-2018 Delaware winter.

You'll be seeing a lot of the frozen banks along the Brandywine in early 2018.

Along with the rest of the Northeast, we're apparently in for a wet, snowy winter.

Snowboarders and skiers can rejoice!

The Farmer's Almanac makes its predictions using a combination of weather modeling, natural cues, and astronomy. Meteorologists have contested the Almanac's methods before, but in general, the Almanac has a historical accuracy of around 80%.

If their predictions come true, some of us might want to hole up in a cabin - I'd recommend one of the cozy ones at Trap Pond State Park.

At least, if you're camping in a Delaware State Park, you'll be able to enjoy the snow without having to worry about driving in it.

And then there will be others - like me - who are hoping for mountains of snow, chilly, crisp weather, and stunning winter scenes all season long.

There's nothing more lovely - to me - than strolling the beaches in the dead of Delaware winter on one of those clear, high-pressure cold days. If you're also part polar bear, the Alamanac says to keep note of these dates, when they're predicting snow storms will affect our area: January 20-23, February 4-7 & 16-19, and March 1-3 & 20-23. One can only hope!
