Most People Have No Idea You Can Do This One Awesome Activity In Delaware

Brandywine Creek State Park offers a new Starry Night Hike program for nighttime stargazing and photography.

Plenty of Delawareans have hiked through Brandywine Creek State Park during the day, in all weather. It's one of the most popular Delaware state parks for a good reason! The meadows are beautiful, the hills provide a break from the typical sea-level Delaware experience, and the critters you'll find on the trail are entertaining and unique. Well, now there's a new reason to get excited about Brandywine Creek State Park! This spring, Delaware State Parks have started a program for nature lovers, photographers, and hikers alike - their Starry Night Hike program.

If you've hiked the meadows here in the past, you're in for a totally new experience.

Meet your group just as the last light is disappearing before 8:00 PM

Your tour guides will take you through the meadows while you look at the sky, spotting constellations, cloud formations, and maybe even a shooting star!

This is a great hike for photographers looking to test their night skills, for stargazers who are sick of light pollution, and for anyone looking for a peaceful night out.

You'll end the night at the Hawk Watch parking lot, where several telescopes will be set up to show you the stars and planets.

To hold your spot, you'll need to call the park at (302)655-5740. Keep in mind they're open from 8 am - 4 pm. The Starry Night hike costs just $5 per person, and the next Delaware night hikes are Friday, April 14th, Friday May 12th, and Friday May 19th, all starting at 8 PM.
