Rockford Tower is an iconic part of Wilmington's landscape, but did you know you can climb right up to the top?

This 75-foot tall stone tower was built in 1901, making it one of the oldest structures still standing in the state.

Here's what the view looked like shortly after the tower was completed! 1900s Wilmington looks a lot different than the city we know today.

Rockford Park surrounds the tower, and throughout the year it hosts celebrations, like the Wilmington Flower Market and New Castle Ice Cream Festival. The iconic tower watches over Delawareans enjoying one of our Wilmington State Parks.

Rockford Tower is open every Sunday afternoon, starting at 1 p.m., to allow the public to climb to the top and take in the view.

In the fall, the rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley are best viewed from nearly 100 feet up!

Occasionally, the tower is open at night for stargazing and astronomy events thanks to Delaware State Parks. You can't beat this unforgettable view of the city and valley.
