Find 4 Bucket-List-Level Views in Delaware Without Needing to Be an Expert Hiker

Delaware is mainly a flat state, but that doesn't mean you can't find endless bucket-list-worthy views—and you don't even have to go on a long, strenuous hike to see them. In fact, several easy trails lead to jaw-dropping vistas throughout the state, no expert-level hiking required. Here are four trails for bucket list views in Delaware:

1. Burton's Island Loop - Rehoboth Beach

Some of the most scenic views in Delaware can be found in Rehoboth Beach, specifically at Delaware Seashore State Park, which boasts 20 miles of bayfront and 6.5 miles of oceanfront. The easy and flat Burton's Island Loop is a mere 1.3 miles, offering bay and salt marsh views that are perfect for spotting many of the park's coastal bird species. There's little doubt that Delaware Seashore State Park is a special place, one that we should all visit at least once in our lives.

2. Cape Henlopen Bike Loop - Lewes

You don't need a bike to traverse the Cape Henlopen Bike Loop at Cape Henlopen State Park, but you may want to, especially since you can check out one from the park for free! The easy 3-mile paved asphalt pathway, 8 feet wide, Is also suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility equipment, making this accessible trail an incredible way for everyone to enjoy the epic views of the Delaware Bay and the Atlantic.

3. Winterthur Museum Gardens - Winterthur

Magical places come in many forms, but no place looks as much like a storybook as Winterthur Museum Gardens. Located in northern Delaware, Winterthur is home to a museum featuring an extraordinary art collection, displayed in a magnificent 175-room mansion situated on 1,000 acres. The property once belonged to Henry Francis du Pont, who had designed its stunning 60-acre garden. While the mansion is undoubtedly impressive, the garden views are among the best in the world, and there are plenty of paths and trails to enjoy them all! Add Winterthur to your Delaware bucket list if you haven't yet visited.

4. Bob Trail - Laurel

At nearly 4,000 acres, Trap Pond State Park is home to the "northernmost naturally occurring stand of bald cypress in the U.S." If you'd like to see these trees growing in a swamp for yourself, head to the park and hike the serene 4.5-mile Bob Trail. On this hike, you'll have excellent views of the bald cypress which is certainly a natural wonder in Delaware.
