This scenic loop trail clocks in at just under 2 miles, so it's the perfect length for a peaceful afternoon adventure.

This gorgeous 56-acre nature preserve was named after Brian Tierney, a Roxbury resident who was wounded during the Vietnam War.

There's even a poignant memorial plaque left in his honor.

When you see reach this landmark, turn right and walk in the southwest direction. This will lead you to a stunning shaded trail.

As you walk through this 1.8-mile loop trail, you'll be met with amazing sights.

Be sure to wear good shoes! While this pathway isn't terribly long, it can get steep and rocky in some areas.

After you pass by a vibrant patch of hemlock plants, you'll come across a few rock outcroppings.

The trail also weaves by glacially-deposited boulders.

You'll pass by a stone wall that dates all the way back to the region's farming days.

After you'll stroll by a fragrant patch of mountain laurel, you'll reach Jack’s Brook.

This gorgeous area is home to a series of waterfalls called The Cascades.
