This Hike In Connecticut Will Give You An Unforgettable Experience
Talcott Mountain State Park offers a unique hiking experience with panoramic views of the Hartford skyline and Heublein Tower.
Have you had a chance to hike Talcott Mountain State Park? If you have, then you know what an amazing experience it is. If you haven't, then you're probably wondering what makes this hike so special. With so many state parks in Connecticut, you have to have something truly unique to get visitors to hike your trail over all the others. Talcott Mountain State Park definitely has something you'll want to see.
Located in Simsbury, this is where you go to catch a view of the Hartford skyline.
Since the park is comprised of 574 acres of land, your view is unobstructed by any other buildings. It's just you, the trees and Hartford. And of course Heublein Tower.
Heublein Tower stands at 165 feet tall and gives you access to panoramic views.
Overlooking the Farmington River, it is a prime spot to see the coming of autumn.
From the ground level it appears to be a speck off in the distance.
But the good news is that it's not as far off as you think! The hike is 1.25 miles and will take roughly 40 minutes to complete.
The trail itself is a gorgeous wooded path.
Talk about inviting. And bonus! The covered path keeps the end view a surprise.
When you reach the top you can explore the tower.
Its unique architecture comes from having been built in 1914. It was made to withstand 100mph winds so it might just be standing forever.
The details on the tower are quite stunning.
But you'll probably be distracted by the views.
The view of Simsbury.
The southwest view.
Everywhere you turn is awesome! Careful your head doesn't start spinning!
This drone footage of the tower will get your heart fluttering! The views are like something out of a dream:
