Thomaston Dam is nestled along the Naugatuck River. Here, you can enjoy a wide variety of recreational activities.

Adventurers flock to their off-highway vehicle area.

But there are also plenty of places to explore by foot.

The area is home to dozens of wildlife species. Keep your eye out for white-tailed deer, red foxes, cottontail rabbits, and mink. If you're lucky, you may even see a bald eagle or two.

Soak up the splendid atmosphere at the top of the dam. These panoramic views are awe-inspiring.

This area is also a great place to enjoy a picturesque picnic.

Pack your favorite snacks and watch the sunset over the water. It doesn't get more incredible than this.

If you love to fish, head over to Black Rock Lake.

Tucked off the beaten path, Black Rock Lake is a stunning secluded oasis. You'll find the park's entrance off of Rt. 109 in Thomaston heading toward Morris.

This natural area is also a popular place to hunt.

Thomaston Dam is home to tons of pheasant and upland game.
