This Moonshine Tasting Room In Connecticut Is A Hidden Speakeasy You Will Want To Tour

Prohibition kept the production of moonshine on the down low until now. This moonshine tasting room offers sips of the first barrel-aged legal whiskey produced in Connecticut. The tasting room is awash in the prohibition vibe and will take you right back to the age of hidden speakeasies. Join in on the fun of this secret hideaway right in the middle of our state.

Onyx Moonshine has opened a speakeasy tasting room in East Hartford. It's located in a warehouse building at 64D Oakland Avenue.

When you arrive, you'll walk down a hallway and enter the moonshine tasting room through a secret bookcase door.

The bookcase door opens into an incredible space that is just perfect to try some local moonshine.

Reminiscent of the Prohibition Era, you'll find wooden casks and other period decor in this hidden speakeasy.

The tasting ticket costs $20 per person for a standard whiskey and moonshine pass or $25 for the secret stash pass which gives you access to whiskeys flavored with local crafted beers for an elevated experience.

This is a no reservations type of joint, it's first come, first served.

The speakeasy does not offer food with its spirits but you are welcome to bring your own.

The Onyx Moonshine Tasting Room is open on Fridays from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m., and Sundays from 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
