What was once a railbed constructed by the New Haven and Northampton Company is now a gorgeous hike and bike trail.

In addition to following the Farmington Canal in Connecticut, the trail also runs along the Hampshire and Hampden Canal in Massachusetts.

Because the trail is not fully completed, visitors can access it from three different sections.

The southern portion goes through New Haven and Plainville, and the middle section runs through Farmington and Suffield. The northern section weaves through Southwick and Northampton, Massachusetts.
