Everyone In Colorado Should Visit These Enchanting Urban Waterfalls

Discover urban waterfalls in Colorado that offer stunning natural beauty within or near city limits.

One of my favorite things about Colorado is that there is no shortage of outdoor adventures or incredible nature to behold. Are you craving a little outdoor time? Maybe some waterfall action? If you are too busy to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, don't worry; just visit one of these "urban" waterfalls that are within city limits (or pretty dang close), and stop googling "waterfalls near me".

Please note, Casa Bonita is temporarily closed.

1. Helen Hunt Falls(Colorado Springs)

Located within North Cheyenne Cañon Park, Helen Hunt Falls is mere minutes away from the heart of downtown Colorado Springs.

2. Boulder Falls(Nederland)

The word "stunning" doesn't even begin to describe these incredible, gushing waters. *Please note: Both Boulder Falls Trail and the surrounding area are currently closed due to flood damage. Continue to check the City of Boulder's website for updates.*

3. Horsetooth Falls(Fort Collins)

No matter the time of year, these Horsetooth Mountain Open Space falls look nothing short of gorgeous.

4. Castlewood Canyon State Park(Franktown)

Located just south of Parker, the small waterfall at Castlewood Canyon State Park packs a big punch with its lovely and tranquil surroundings.

4. Castlewood Canyon State Park(Colorado Springs)

It doesn't get anymore magnificent than this privately owned, 181-foot tall series of waterfalls. Want to know something cool? Seven Falls made National Geographic's list of the best international waterfalls to visit.

6. Forsythe Canyon(Boulder)

6. Forsythe Canyon(Boulder)

A popular family destination is Boulder's Forsythe Canyon Trail, which features not only an easy-to-access, moderate hike, but a lovely end goal (AKA the waterfall).

7. Elk Creek Falls (Pine)

OK, so Staunton State Park *might* be a little bit of a drive from Centennial, BUT we wouldn't be listing if it wasn't a must-visit.

8. Soldier Canyon Falls (Fort Collins)

It isn't hard to see why these delicate falls (and the hike) are a Northern Colorado favorite.

9. Casa Bonita(Lakewood)

Last but certainly not least is the one and only Casa Bonita waterfall! (Hey, the food might be atrocious, but at least you get to watch half-naked people dive off the cliff... Right?)

Which "urban" waterfall is your favorite?
