Hidden gems are all over Colorado. With so much to see, it's no wonder that people miss things here and there. With how many trails are all over the state, sometimes things are missed. This little lakeside beach in Colorado is part of an underrated trail that also features a waterfall. What a hidden gem! Perfect for a day of exploration.
Welcome to a little slice of heaven hidden away from most eyes. Today's adventure leads to San Isabel National Forest, a beautiful area with a trail to follow named Turquoise Lake Trail.
The whole trail is an 11-mile out-and-back that offers gorgeous views at the beach and plenty more to see along the way. Wildlife of all sorts lives in this forested area, and spotting it takes a keen eye.
Colorado doesn't really have anything close to an ocean, but a day at the beach can be anything you make it. Who says mountain views aren't good enough? If the weather permits and you bring it with you, a blanket or camping chair during the summer is a great way to relax.
However, there's a hidden beauty here. What you might not know about this trail, is that there is a waterfall along the path. It's nothing too huge, but it's a beautiful and relaxing addition to your day.
Hiking out on Turquoise Lake Trail is a breeze compared to make rockier Colorado hikes, and the beach here on the water is a great place to spend a while just taking it all in.
This trail is great for dogs, but make sure to bring everything back with you that you brought out here. Everyone should help keep these places as clean and natural as possible. It's worth it for future beach days!
