Blue Hen Falls Is A Unique Dog-Friendly Destination Near Cleveland Perfect For An Outdoor Adventure

Blue Hen Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park offers a dog-friendly hiking trail with scenic views and a beautiful waterfall.

Do you need some outdoor time with your pet that doesn't include a crowded local dog park? Consider going on an adventure to a waterfall for a unique day out with your dog. This hiking trail is dog-friendly and full of fun! A less than 30-minute drive from Cleveland, this state park is a great option for getting active with your four-legged friend outside of the dog park.

Blue Hen Falls is found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and is a great little falls to visit for beginner hikers and their canine friends. Leashed, of course!

The trail runs 3.9 miles in an out-and-back form, with a nice low waterfall you can enjoy visiting up close.

There's a bit of elevation gain over the length of the trail, but overall it isn't anything a good walking stick and shoes wouldn't help. There are hills, but not too high for most hikers.

Even in the winter when the water has frozen into ice sculptures, this beautiful trail is great for exploring. If you have a double-coated dog who loves the cold, a winter hike is the perfect pick. Just make sure you have the proper footwear to keep traction!

In the fall, the trail is draped in shades of yellow, red, and orange as the leaves change. How beautiful is that?

The national park as a whole has 110 miles of hiking trails that allow leashed dogs. Even if you've taken this trip already, odds are you have more area to explore!
