Your excursion starts in the lovely Newport Bay with Pirate Coast Paddle Company. Look for the little brightly decorated Pirate Coast gazebo on the beach across from the Newport Dunes Marina.

Pirate Coast offers kayaking and paddle boarding all day long and has plenty of equipment so you can just show up on weekends year-round (weather permitting) or any day from June through October. For night tours and groups over 10, however, you need to make a reservation.

There are picnic tables and shaded areas, too, so feel free to come early and enjoy a little beach picnic as you watch the sun go down!

The back bay of Newport Beach is beautiful any time of day, but especially enchanting as the sun sets and casts pretty reflections on the calm water.

The SUP (standup paddle) Glow tour was the very first “glow tour” to be offered in California and is a thrilling new way to experience paddling.

This is a 1-hour guided group tour under the stars. You will paddle through the serene waters of Newport Bay. Not only will you enjoy the boat and city lights that come up around the bay, but each board features LED lighting that glows into the water creating a unique visual experience.
