The Swimming Spot In Northern California You Must Visit Before Summer’s Over

Summer might be starting to wind down, but there's still plenty of time for some fun. Head for this pretty beach for a day of swimming and relaxation.

You'll find Lake Anza at Tilden Regional Park. It's located in the Berkeley Hills.

This pretty lake is nestled in the trees; it's a beautiful, natural setting. Bask in the sun on the beach, or find a shady spot a bit farther from the water.

The swimming area is roped off into sections, depending on the depth of the lake.

The area close to shore isn't very deep, so it's perfect for young children to wade and play - just keep your eye on them while they're in the water.

There's a lifeguard there to keep you safe. They're on duty every day from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Weekends can be pretty busy...

...but if you can visit on a weekday, it's lot less crowded.

Bring a picnic lunch, or buy food at the concession stand.

There's a fee to access this lake, but it's well worth it. Adults ages 16+ pay $3.50; Kids ages 1-15 pay $2.50; Seniors 62+ pay $2.50.
