Fall in Southern California is one of our favorite times of the year. As the temperatures cool down, it's time to put away our flip flops and pull out our scarves. But more than scarf weather, it's pumpkin season that truly marks the arrival of autumn. Here's a look at one of SoCal's most beloved pumpkin farms where family traditions are made each and every year.
Fall is in the air and you know what that means? It's time to head out to the pumpkin farm. The Pumpkin Patch at Tanaka Farms is officially open and you'll want to visit before the season is over.
Since 1941, Tanaka Farms has been one of SoCal's favorite go-to fall destinations where you can pick out your very own pumpkin straight off the vine.
Tanaka Farms is centrally located in Southern California in the city of Irvine at 5380 University Dr, Irvine, CA 92612.
So what kind of fun can you expect to have at Tanaka Farms? In addition to picking out pumpkins, you'll also be entertained with tons of fall activities including a corn maze, arts and crafts, face painting, and even a pumpkin cannon.
Yes, you read that correctly, a pumpkin cannon! But don't worry, they aren't wasting any edible pumpkins for this activity. The only pumpkins that find their way into the cannon are the ones that make excellent compost.
Wagon rides are another fun way to enjoy an adventure at Tanaka Farm. Hop inside and take a relaxing tour of the farm from the comfort of a motorized wagon.
Or head on over to the corn maze and see if you can find your way out without using the map!
And make sure to swing by the farm store and pick-up some pumpkin bread and other favorite fall eats and drinks so you so you can truly enjoy the season.
Tanaka Farms is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days per week. Make sure to head there early in the season so you have your pick of the very best pumpkins.
