The Place In Arkansas That Makes You Feel Like You’ve Stepped Through A Magical Wardrobe

Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas resembles the magical land of Narnia with its varied landscapes and ancient structures.

Do you guys remember when I wrote an article about a place in Arkansas that is like Middle Earth and admitted to being just the biggest nerd? Hello, there. I’m here again to remind you that I’m a huge nerd and to tell you about the one place in Arkansas that will transport you to Narnia. Oh, Narnia, a place of retreat for children of all ages. At times a dense forest, a wintry land of mountains and valleys, a place full of ancient ruins and marshlands—it’s a varied landscape, but no place is more similar to the forests of Aslan’s kingdom than Devil’s Den State Park. I present this photographic evidence to back up my claim:

Sure, when the Pevensie children first walk through the wardrobe the landscape is covered in snow and ice...

...but after the White Witch is (temporarily) defeated, that long winter thaws into the most glorious spring.

After all, what says magical land quite like the green of spring in the forest of Devil’s Den?

The CCC-built structures at Devil’s Den look like perfect, cozy abodes for talking woodland creatures.

Some of them even look like they were built specifically for small creatures.

Others look like good places for Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve to have a lovely picnic.

The interesting geology gives the park an ancient feel, too.

Yellow Rock would be the perfect place to survey the kingdom, wouldn’t it?

If you want to feel like you’re wandering through the forests of Narnia, you need to head to Devil’s Den.

It’s like stepping through the wardrobe and right into total magic.

Devil's Den State Park is located in the Ozark National Forest at 11333 AR-74 near West Fork.
