We’re lucky enough to have an abundance of waterfalls in the Natural State, and all of them are their own special kind of wonderful. Some of our waterfalls are more popular than others, however, so there are plenty of waterfalls around that are overlooked. One of those waterfalls is Long Pool Falls, and it’s just as pretty as a picture.

Long Pool Falls is located in the Long Pool Recreation Area, which is near Dover in the Ozark National Forest.

The trail you’ll take to get to the falls is called Long Pool Falls Trail. It’s about a mile long and moderately difficult.

You can find the trail at Long Pool Falls Recreation Area, which is a scenic part of the Ozarks centered around Big Piney Creek.

Long Pool Falls spills from over a bluff after a good rain. The waterfall is 44 feet tall, and it’s just as pretty as a picture.

Below the huge fall, you’ll find lower Long Pool Falls.

Though it’s much shorter than the main waterfall, it is equally picturesque.
