This Waterfall With An Emerald Pool Is A Hidden Wonder In Arizona’s Grand Canyon You Must See With Your Own Eyes

Elves Chasm in the Grand Canyon is a hidden waterfall accessible by river rafting or a challenging hike, offering stunning emerald waters and lush scenery.

If you're someone who enjoys waterfalls in Arizona, Elves Chasm is basically heaven on earth. Nestled deep in the Grand Canyon, this hidden wonder is only accessible via either a river rafting trip or a grueling backcountry hike. Those who do manage to find it, however, are duly rewarded by the sight of a gorgeous waterfall trickling down a slot canyon into an emerald pool.

Elves' Chasm may look like something you could only find in a tropical rainforest, but it exists right here in Arizona.

The slot canyon grotto is notoriously hard to access, but that hasn't stopped countless people from seeking it out. In fact, it's one of the most heavily photographed spots in the entire Grand Canyon.

There are two ways to experience the ethereal beauty of Elves Chasm firsthand.

Most people arrive via raft, as the second option is a grueling and dangerous 33-mile hike on the Royal Arch Route.

If you do visit the Chasm while on a rafting trip (which we strongly recommend), you'll find it near Colorado River mile marker 116.

From there, you will have to complete a two-mile (round-trip) hike from the river that involves a fair amount of rock scrambling - but it's nothing compared to the bushwhacking and rappelling the hike-only route requires.

While you likely won't encounter too many people at Elves Chasm, those who do manage to find it can often be seen taking a dip in the refreshing, crystal-clear waters.

Further amplifying the magic is a beautiful waterfall that cascades down a series of rocks before spilling into the pool. This place is the definition of heaven on Earth.

Lush greenery flourishes up and down the sides of the canyon, and when the sun hits the water just right, it too appears emerald in color.

You'll feel a bit like an explorer stumbling upon new territory when you visit this pristine, little-known oasis.

Make sure to take lots of pictures while you're here.

After all, who knows when you'll be back?
