Juneau has some pretty spectacular scenery, and Point Bridget Trail in Alaska is a great example of some of the gorgeous landscape that surrounds the city. Located within Point Bridget State Park in Alaska, it’s the perfect place to pack a picnic and enjoy all that Alaska has to offer.
Point Bridget State Park is a natural wonderland of 2,850 acres.
Located about 40 minutes north of Juneau, it’s a spectacular place filled with stunning scenery. It showcases some of the best coastal scenery in the area. The scenery is why so many love hiking in Point Bridget State Park.
This easy trail winds itself through forest and meadows and brings you all the way out to the coastline.
Along the way, you’ll travel a well-maintained path.
The trail is a popular one for birding and animal watching.
As you pass through so many times of ecosystems, it’s easy to spot plenty of wildlife. And the trail is relatively flat, only gaining just over 400 feet in elevation, so it’s a great one to meander along.
The trail is a 7-mile out-and-back trail.
Although it’s not difficult, it is long, so plan to be out on your hike for just over 2.5 hours. And for its length, it’s definitely kid-friendly, offering plenty of things to keep the kids in awe.
The trail can get pretty muddy after the rain, or early in the spring season.
Wear good waterproof boots, and pack in layers in case the weather changes. You’ll appreciate staying dry if a good rain comes through.
