Juneau has a number of gorgeous places that you need to visit. And one of our favorites? Point Bridget State Park.
This beautiful state park is located 40 miles north of Juneau. And at only 2,850 acres, it comes in as Alaska’s smallest state park.
The park is made up of a number of different varied topographies.
You’ll find coastline, meadows, forest, cliffs, streams, and more. It’s such a great way to understand the ecology in the area around Juneau.
Created in 1988, the park has been delighting locals and tourists alike for decades.
Come for the fishing, the hiking, the whale spotting from shore.. or just the gorgeous views and a slower pace. Wildlife and outdoor lovers will revel in this small piece of paradise.
If you find you can’t leave, (and we don’t blame you,) worry not!
The park has three public use cabins that you can rent for the night for only $60.00. And with picnic tables and toilets, you’re all set up for a longer stay if you’d like one.
It’s also a great place for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.
The open meadows and forest allow for a great place to get out and stretch your legs. There are so many great ways to utilize the park; it has something for just about everyone!
Whether you’re spending the night, or just enjoying a day here, Point Bridget State Park should be experienced by everyone visiting Juneau.
Bird watch, have a picnic, or just stroll and enjoy the scenery. You’ll be glad for the peace and quiet you found at this magical little state park in Alaska.
