One of our favorite things to do is float down some of the state's most scenic rivers or creeks. In fact, there are some incredible tubing destinations that are sure to cool you off on a hot summer day. Make sure to add these lazy rivers in Alabama to your summer bucket list because they're all worth checking out!
1. Styx River Tube and Canoe Rental
Styx River Tube and Canoe Rental is the longest continually operating float trip outfitter on the Styx River. This mighty river is located in eastern Baldwin County and flows for just over 41 miles. It offers many great spots for swimming and fishing, and is one of the best spots for tubing in Alabama.
2. Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve
Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve is truly the ultimate outdoor adventure in Alabama. This place covers 6,000 acres and offers a variety of recreational activities, including tubing. The park also has a campground, so you can spend the night if you like.
3. Limestone Park Canoe Rental
Limestone Park Canoe Rental will take you down the Cahaba River, the longest free-flowing river in Alabama. This rental spot is located a little off the beaten path, but shuttle service is included. Go during the week for smaller crowds.
4. Big Wills Creek Campground and Tubing
Big Wills Creek Campground and Tubing is a popular family destination that provides one of the best floats in Alabama. The campground is a great summer vacation spot. There are a variety of water recreational activities here, such as kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and tubing. The campground's float trips are one mile long and are an ideal way to cool off on a hot summer day.
