Frank Jackson State Park, which covers 2,050 acres, is located in Opp, Alabama. It's a must-visit for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Entrance Fees: Ages 4-11, $2; 12- 61, $4; 62+, $2; Children under the age of 4 are free. The cost per boat launch is $4.
The park's main attraction is Lake Frank Jackson. This 1,000-acre lake offers incredible fishing opportunities. In fact, anglers from all across the state and beyond visit Frank Jackson State Park to fish from this wonderful lake.
Frank Jackson State Park also offers more than three miles of walking trails. And because they have an easy rating, they're perfect for hikers of all abilities.
For those of you who wish to have a picnic during your visit, tables and grills are provided. Two covered pavilions are also available with a rental fee of $50 per day.
If you have children, you'll most certainly want to bring them to the playground. While watching your children play, you'll also get to enjoy a great view of the lake.
Frank Jackson State Park is also a great place for a weekend getaway. It offers 32 RV campsites. You can also use these spots to tent camp. Eight primitive campsites are located near the bathhouse, and camping cabins are also available.
Another great feature of Frank Jackson State Park is its sunsets. If you're at the park at dusk, you'll experience one of the most beautiful sunsets as it reflects off the lake.
