There’s A Sunflower-Themed Cafe At This Montana Campground, And It’s Heavenly

The Sunflower Cafe & BBQ at Glacier Campground offers campers a convenient and delightful open-air dining experience near Glacier National Park.

Usually, going camping means you have to fend for yourself when it comes to meals. And while we're big fans of campfire cooking here in Montana, having a restaurant at a campground is certainly convenient. The Sunflower Cafe & BBQ is located at Glacier Campground, and it's every camper's dream come true.

Glacier Campground is located a mile from the west entrance to Glacier National Park, spanning 40 wooded acres and surrounded by Flathead National Forest.

All campsites are nestled within the timber, offering a true sense of privacy to campers.

The Sunflower Cafe is located right on the property, serving as a sunny oasis in the middle of the forest.

The eatery offers open-air dining focused on breakfast and lunch.

The cafe is operated by Felicia Lartey and Hunter Cone, who draw inspiration for the menu items from their travels around the world.

Lartey has been cooking since she was 18, moving to Montana from Utah to cook at the Belton for a summer. She fell in love with the Treasure State, and Montanans fell in love with her cooking.

There has been a restaurant of some sort at the campground for over a decade, but it was renamed the Sunflower Cafe in 2016.

And since Lartey and Cone took it over, it's become a popular stop even for those who aren't camping.

The menu varies, but there are always plenty of tasty breakfast, lunch, and hearty BBQ options.

You can also sip cocktails, craft beer, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages.

The food here is absolutely fantastic, but the atmosphere alone makes it worth visiting.

It's all open-air dining, but you'll stay nice and cozy thanks to the fireplace.

Hours for the Sunflower Cafe vary based on the timing of tourist season.
