Northern Pacific Beanery Is A Train-Themed Restaurant In Montana That Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again
Montana has an abundance of railroad towns, and Livingston is no exception. Founded in the early 1800s by the Northern Pacific Railway as a midway point between Minneapolis and Seattle, it was the railway that put this little city on the map. And while the railroad is no longer our primary means of transportation, you’ll still find plenty of nods to its history when you visit Livingston. There’s even a train-themed restaurant called the Northern Pacific Beanery, and it’s delightful.
The eatery is part of the Livingston Depot Center, so the theme is as authentic as it gets.
This building has been around since the early 1900s, and the restaurant has been around almost as long.
As nice as modern restaurant spaces are, there's something special about the old-fashioned aesthetic. You'll feel like you're in a train's dining car as you prepare to order your meal.
Breakfast is served until 11 a.m., and while they have all the morning meal classics, we highly recommend trying one of the scrumptious omelettes.
Sandwiches, burgers, and baskets are served with fries, a salad, vegetables, cottage cheese, or coleslaw. One thing is certain—you will not leave hungry.
In addition to the irresistible milkshakes and ice cream on the menu, you're welcome (and encouraged) to try the freshly baked pie.
For such a small city, Livingston has quite a few delicious dining options. But you can never go wrong with a meal at this old train depot.
