People Drive From All Over Montana To Eat At This Humble But Legendary Steakhouse

Sir Scott’s Oasis in Manhattan, Montana, was a beloved steakhouse known for its prime rib and laid-back atmosphere before it closed permanently.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Unfortunately, Sir Scott's Oasis has permanently closed its doors.

If you ask 50 different Montanans where to find the best steak in the state, you're likely to get 50 different answers. We absolutely love our steak here in the Treasure State, and we're fortunate enough to have an abundance of steakhouses to choose from. However, we have yet to find a more locally famous spot than Sir Scott's Oasis Steakhouse & Lounge. This laid-back eatery will serve you the best prime rib of your life.

Located about 20 miles from Bozeman, Manhattan, Montana is a small town in Gallatin County that is home to less than 2,000 people.

That's where you'll find Sir Scott's Oasis, which occupies this unassuming building on Main Street.

You'll never have to dress up for a meal here, although you're welcome to.

This place is as laid-back as it gets.

Sir Scott's Oasis has been around for 40 years. Admittedly, it hasn't changed much.

But there's something about the familiarity of this old place that makes it feel especially welcoming. Owners Scott and Marie Westphal opened the restaurant themselves, and for a while, they were the only employees.

Of course, it's the food that keeps people coming back for more—particularly the steak.

If you're looking for a good old-fashioned grilled steak and baked potato meal, you've come to the right place. The team keeps things classic here.

The finger steaks at The Oasis earn particularly high praise...

...and don't even get us started on the prime rib.

It's served daily, you'll have your choice of three sizes, and it is arguably the best in Montana. What could be better than that?

Sir Scott's Oasis has survived numerous recessions, a global pandemic, and more... and it's better than ever.

The restaurant opens every day but Monday at 11 a.m., so if you haven't been in a while, stop in for lunch or dinner.

What do you like to order at Sir Scott's Oasis?
