Four Generations Of A Montana Family Have Owned And Operated The Legendary Borrie’s Supper Club
Borrie's Supper Club in Black Eagle, a historic family-run restaurant since 1938, is renowned for its prime rib and Italian dishes.
Black Eagle is a tiny town that sits just outside of Great Falls. Once known as "Little Chicago" due to its early bustling activity from smelters and refineries, this spot is now known mainly as a quiet suburb of Great Falls.
While there aren't many amenities in Black Eagle, it is home to Borrie's Supper Club, a tasty restaurant that dates all the way back to 1938. And nearly a century later, it's still being run by the same family.
Borrie's Supper Club is located at 1800 Smelter Ave.
It's impossible to miss the big sign as you drive through town. While this wasn't the restaurant's original location, it has been in this spot since 1956.
In 1938, Emilio “Borrie” Grasseschi first opened Borrie’s Restaurant and Lounge. It was an instant hit.
The restaurant has seen a lot of changes over the years, most of them subtle (although the dining room has doubled in size in recent years), but the Grasseschi family still has the best service and food in town.
The dining room looks different than it did in the 1950s, but if you've dined here over the last several decades, you might keep seeing the same familiar faces.
Not only does Borrie's have high staff retention, most of which are friends and family, but the customer loyalty is unparalleled. Some of the customers have been dining here their entire lives.
Of course, a restaurant is only as good as its food. And this one doesn't disappoint.
You'll find everything from salads and soups to deluxe steak dinners on the menu, as well as some hearty Italian entrees.
Every batch of spaghetti sauce, salad dressing, and soup is made from the same decades-old family recipes used in the beginning.
The spaghetti sauce is a particularly beloved family recipe.
Of course, if you visit on a Tuesday, there's only one thing to order for dinner: prime rib.
It's exceptional.
Borrie's Supper Club is open for dinner every day except Monday.
They open at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and at 5 p.m. the rest of the week.
If you've been to Borrie's Supper Club, what did you order?
