A Former Montana Service Station Is Now SHINE Beer Sanctuary

SHINE Beer Sanctuary + Bottle Shop in Bozeman offers a renovated space for craft beer, food, and community gatherings.

The building at 451 East Main Street in Bozeman has been reinvented several times over the years... and we think you're going to love its latest incarnation. What started out as a service station decades ago eventually became The Garage Soup Shack, a beloved spot for soup and sandwiches. And now, after years of planning and months of hard work, SHINE Beer Sanctuary + Bottle Shop is open for business - and every beer-loving Montanan should check it out.

If you haven't been to Bozeman in a while, you might not even recognize the building where The Garage once stood.

That's because the team spent months renovating and expanding the space to fit their vision.

SHINE officially opened in mid-October, much to the excitement of Bozeman residents.

The owners are Travis Collins, Pete Strom, and Lindsey Gabrian, with employee Kate Chan and Travis's wife Julie Collins playing an integral role as well. Strom and Gabrian owned and managed The Garage, so they're happy to see the new venture succeeding.

The space, which is kid-friendly, houses a taproom, a large bottle shop, and a kitchen.

It's a place to go to enjoy a beer or two, a meal, and the company of others.

If you miss The Garage's soup, don't worry - the owners of La Parilla have moved into the building and rebranded themselves as LaPa Grill + Soup Shack.

La Parilla specialized in burritos, but the new eatery also offers nachos and street tacos.

And if you're wondering how a bowl of piping hot soup and a cold beer tastes on a chilly winter day, wonder no more.

It's as amazing as it sounds.

The bottle shop took a bit longer to open, but it's now running smoothly.

The beer and cider selection is quite good, and the owners are already seeking to expand it.

If you're more of a wine drinker, rejoice - they sell that too.

The bottle shop has 20 different wines for sale at any given time. Rosé all day, anyone?

SHINE is open daily from 11 a.m to 10 p.m., although the kitchen and bottle shop hours may vary.

When in doubt, just give them a call at (406) 551-2019 and ask.

Have you been to SHINE Beer Sanctuary yet? Montana's craft beer scene is thriving, and all we have to say is "Cheers" to that.
