When you think of haunted places in Montana, what comes to mind? Perhaps you think of the spirits at the Grand Union Hotel in Fort Benton, or even the rumored paranormal activity at Bannack State Park. But some of the Treasure State’s most haunted spots stay out of the spotlight, including an Elks Lodge in Miles City with quite a history.
It sits at the junction of the Yellowstone and Tongue Rivers in Custer County.
These days, it's your standard lodge where members gather for multiple monthly meetings and community gatherings are held.

During the Prohibition era, this building served as quite the speakeasy. There's even a rumor that Bonnie and Clyde played cards here once.
And strange sightings and sounds have been taking place here ever since.
The spirit often wanders the halls of the Elks Lodge, appearing to members briefly before disappearing again. On one occasion, she was even caught on camera coming out of a bathroom.
And, while none of this proves this place is haunted, it's safe to say you never know what you might experience here.
