The One Montana Town That Transforms Into A Christmas Wonderland Each Year
We can’t get enough of the holiday season here in the Treasure State. From our dazzling light displays to our Santa-filled parades, no one loves Christmastime more than Montanans. And year after year, Bigfork manages to turn into a beautiful Christmas Wonderland we can’t resist.
Bigfork is a little piece of paradise in any season. But in the winter, they really make an effort to deck their halls.
Local elves gather every November to decorate the downtown area to prepare for the annual Bigfork Holiday Parade of Lights, which takes place during the first week of December.
Most of the local businesses get in on the trend, especially the ones that are located downtown.
This makes holiday shopping extra special.
You'll find plenty of citywide events and activities that encourage you to shop local and spend time with your loved ones...
... and if you can brave the cold, you'll love taking an evening stroll through town.
The light displays seem to get bigger and brighter every year.
Bigfork is the gateway to an abundance of winter outdoor activities, and the Marina Cay Resort is the perfect place to warm up afterward.
They host an annual holiday wine stroll in early December, and they do a lot to support local businesses throughout the holiday season.
There's never a bad time to visit Bigfork, but Christmas feels especially enchanting here.
They leave the decor up through New Year's Day, so if you can't make it for Christmas, you can always go for the Annual Polar Bear Plunge on January 1 (brrrr).
You've still got plenty of time to visit Montana's Christmas village this year.
Finish out your shopping and enjoy the festivities with the proud community.
