As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
We’ve all probably read a book or have seen a movie about time travel. Maybe we’ve even dreamed of what time period we’d travel to, if we could. While we can’t really journey back in time, we certainly can feel as though we have at the many retro destinations throughout Missouri. For a peek way back in time, check into Missouri’s Boots Court Motel.
Tucked along Old Route 66 in Carthage, Boots Court Motel is one of those places that just draws visitors with its quiet charm.
If you're traveling through Carthage and need a comfy place to stay, you've found it at this historic motel that opened in 1939. Since then, it's undergone restoration to bring it back to its glory days in the 1940s.
You don't need reservations to stay at the roadside motel. However, you might want to make them, if you want to ensure you score a room when you want it.
The 1940s were all about radio, one reason that each room also features an old-school radio. Tune in to your favorite station before bed to help you relax.
With its long history, Boots Court Motel has also seen its fair share of famous guests. If you're a fan of Gone With The Wind, and Clark Gable, you may want to request to stay in the room he stayed in.
