Fill Up On Unique Sweets And Unconventional Eats At The Dip In Mississippi

The Dip, also known as Velvet Cream, is a renowned eatery in Hernando known for its unique culinary creations and classic drive-in fare.

If you’re a fan of inventive grub, you’re sure to love The Dip. The longstanding eatery serves up some incredibly unique culinary creations – and that’s in addition to a classic drive-in fare of burgers, ice cream treats, and fast food eats. Take a look:

Known by locals as The Dip, Velvet Cream has been pleasing palates since opening in Hernando in 1947.

Throughout the decades, the small town eatery has garnered national recognition for its artisan ice cream and delicious cheeseburgers.

Dubbed a “burger bazaar and ice cream emporium,” its massive menu features over 20 types of gourmet burgers...

...as well as treats made from soft serve, frozen yogurt, hand-dipped ice cream, gelato, sorbet, and Italian ice.

While the menu boasts a variety of classics, it features some not-so-classic items, like the Hole In One, a donut ice cream sandwich.

That’s not the only must-try for donut fans, though. There’s also the 9-1-1 Cheeseburger and 9-1-1 Fried Chicken.

But it's not just donuts used to concoct one-of-a-kind sandwiches.

Cinnamon rolls and waffles also take the place of buns.

If you’re not willing to take too big of a risk, you can always try one of the eatery’s gourmet burgers. With unique toppings, like grilled pineapples, they offer just the right amount of adventure.

Speaking of pineapples, they’re the main ingredient in The Dip’s Paradise Pineapples, which are a summertime specialty and customer favorite.

The eatery’s standout items aren’t limited to its unique concoctions, though. Oversized items, such as 55-ounce shakes and malts and a two-pound burger, are also a specialty at The Dip.
