Every year, toward the end of August and the beginning of September, Afton Apple Orchard, near Hastings, MN, hosts its annual Flower Festival – just as its fields of sunflowers and zinnias are at their peaks. Visit the mill ruins and the eponymous waterfall at Vermillion Falls Park, then pop into the beloved Wiederholt’s Supper Club for dinner – after all, you can work up quite an appetite frolicking in fields of flowers!
