Boston has a reputation for history, colleges, and for spawning die-hard sports fans. As Bostonians, we do have certain charming quirks, however, we’re just as defined by the things that we refuse to do as we are by our actions. It’s hard to catch a Bostonian doing these things. Check out this list and see how many apply to you!
We absolutely love our chowder, lobster rolls, fried calamari… the list goes on and on.
Clam strips usually have the consistency of a deep fried rubber band and they lack the sweetness of whole clam bellies.
The apple cider donut line is never too long.
If the weather here were human, it would be that person ahead of you in line at the sub shop who sounds like this: "I want a steak bomb, no wait, make that a chicken parm. Hang on, maybe a salad would be better. Eh, bad idea. I’ll take the roast beef." We have to dress for all possibilities.
Speeding, forgetting the blinkah exists, driving diagonally to make an exit... these are all part of the charm of Boston driving. In fairness, it’s tough to navigate a city where roads evolved, rather than follow anything resembling a plan.
There’s a whole other side to Boston where duck boats never venture.
We laugh in the face of snow banks! Plenty of Bostonians will still go jogging in a blizzard.
People move from New York to Boston on occasion, but, if they’re smart, they convert their allegiances or whoop in the privacy of their own homes... unless they’re this cute, in which case they can support whichever team they want!
People come here for our world class hospitals and doctors.
Well, you can go out of state if your Ma puts the mother in smother. However, with around 80 world class private colleges and universities to choose from in the Greater Boston area, you can probably get a top education without even changing your ZIP Code.
There are always some people who wind up in a city based purely on career or family needs, but most of us truly love living here.
