This Small Town Maine Pub Has Some Of The Best Food In New England

There are plenty of places to grab a pint in Maine, but to do it right you're going to need to find a place that's got local beer, scrumptious food and friendly folks. The Liberal Cup in Hallowell fits the bill and it's located in one of our favorite Maine towns! With an area of just 6.1 miles, Hallowell is the state's smallest city. But, strolling down the main street evokes far more small town vibes than those of any city. Check out this spot on the Kennebec and we bet you'll be back for a refill!

Hallowell, incorporated in 1771, was named after Boston merchant Benjamin Hallowell who was one of the Kennebec Proprietors.

Today, Maine's smallest city offers everything from shopping to eating to drinking all within spitting distance of the beautiful Kennebec River.

Once you've had a chance to explore the area, you'll want to go straight to The Liberal Cup, the best English Pub this side of the Atlantic!

They specialize in Ales and Bitters, making sure the draughts change often.
