Take A Magical Waterfall Hike In Maine To Dunn Falls, If You Can Find It

Even the most hidden spots can be reached as long as you’re open to appreciating the journey just as much as the destination. Today we’re featuring a waterfall that’s reachable through a fun hike, but might not be the obvious choice. Check it out!

Located near Maine's border with New Hampshire you'll find Dunn Falls just outside the town of Andover.

The 1.9-mile out-and-back trail leads through the woods, twisting and turning until finally arriving at one of the most lovely waterfalls in the state.

The route is considered moderately difficult due to some exposed roots and rocks, but overall if you're a hiker you should find this doable.

While this waterfall hike isn't *completely* hidden, the start of the route is not completely obvious. You'll start your journey in a small parking lot, but be sure to keep an eye out for the right blazes which will be marked when you arrive.

Along the way, you'll pass other waterfalls as well as some lovely views like this. And that's why this journey is just as fantastic as the destination. Although, it's a close call!

Dunn Falls is actually *two* different waterfalls. Lower Dunn Falls features an 80-foot drop.

And just down the river, you'll find Upper Dunn Falls, which isn't quite as obvious as the lower falls.

Beautiful year-round, we love that there are two waterfalls for the hike of one! And that doesn't even include the smaller ones you'll pass along the trail.
