You Can Find Some Of The Best Po’boys Outside New Orleans At KY’s Olde Towne Bicycle Shop Restaurant

Everyone has their favorite po’boy shop they frequent, but sometimes it can be good to mix it up a bit and try something new. It may seem a little odd to leave New Orleans to get a po’boy, but we promise you, the drive is worth it. Not only does this little restaurant in Slidell have incredible po’boys, but you’ll absolutely love the atmosphere. Let’s check it out.

You’ll find K.Y.’s over in Slidell, just a short drive from New Orleans.

The building dates back to 1902, and was originally home to the Marguerite McDaniels Millinery Store.

Over the past century, the building has seen many businesses come and go.

From a grocery store to ta lawnmower shop, if these walls could talk, they’d have a lot to say.

From the late 60s to the early 90s, the place operated as a bicycle shop and lawnmower repair shop.

When K.Y.’s opened up in 1992, they decided to keep the bicycle atmosphere. When you walk in, you’ll see all sorts of nostalgic bicycles hanging from the ceiling.

The family-friendly restaurant has a menu that caters to just about everyone.

All your favorite Louisiana classics are on the menu, plus several burgers and sandwiches.

But the star of the show here are the po’boys.

Be sure to come hungry, because these po’boys are huge.

And you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.

You’ll find all your usual suspects like fried oysters, fried shrimp, and roast beef po’boys, but also a few K.Y. specialties like meatball, grilled chicken, and a delicious burger po’boy to munch on.

K.Y.’s is open six days a week.

Monday: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Tuesday: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Wednesday-Thursday: 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Friday-Saturday: 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
