Take what you know about the hot dog and throw it out the window, because there’s one tasty restaurant near New Orleans that’s serving up some of the best hot dogs in Louisiana, and you need to try one. Gas up the car, because today we’re headed to Slidell to check out Bruiser’s, a funky little joint with hot dogs to die for. Let’s check it out.

Welcome to Bruiser’s, affectionately known as “The Hot Dog Place.”

Established in 2014, this quirky little eatery has been a neighborhood hotspot for locals in search of a hearty meal without breaking the bank.

When it comes to hot dogs, Bruiser’s is king.

There are over 15 different dogs to choose from here at Bruiser’s.

From sweet Italian Chicago sausage to beer battered cod fish, they do dogs of all types.

And several sides. You can’t go wrong with an order of their tater nachos or cheddar bacon ranch tots. Yum!

If you don’t see a signature dog that calls to you, you can always build your own. Pile yours sky high with relish and peppers or maybe some olive salad and mozzarella. The options are endless!

Of course, there’s something to be said for a classic chili cheese dog that just hits the spot.

Bruiser’s is open five days a week:


Tuesday - Friday: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Saturday: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
