James Lasyone was a butcher who began tinkering with his own meat pie recipe in the 1950s.
After spending many years grinding meat for his customers to make their own meat pies, he decided to make his own.
In 1967, Lasyone opened up his own place and started his Meat Pie Kitchen.
People from all over the world have visited Natchitoches to try his delicious meat pies.
