Evi’s Schnitzel Haus in Shreveport offers authentic and delicious German cuisine, making it a must-visit spot in Louisiana.
When it comes to authentic German cuisine, there’s one place in Shreveport that stands out from the rest. Evi’s Schnitzel Haus has some of the most delicious German food in Louisiana, and it’s worthy of a road trip from any corner of the state.
For authentic German food, a trip to Evi’s Schnitzel Haus is an absolute must.
This little Shreveport eatery opened up in 2017, making it the first German restaurant in Shreveport.
German native Evi Bradford opened the eatery with the intention of bringing her heritage to Caddo Parish, and although they’ve changed locations a few times in the last couple of years, people still flock to this tasty little restaurant because the food is just that good.
For starters, be sure to get a pretzel for the table.
You can go with a plain pretzel with mustard or add a bratwurst for a little something different.
The menu features several authentic German dishes like spaetzle, bratwurst, and of course, schnitzel.
If you’ve never had schnitzel, you’re in for a real treat.
It’s a thin pork cutlet that’s breaded and fried to a golden brown and served with two sides.
They have several different types of schnitzel, ranging from a simple schnitzel with lemon slices to a savory mushroom gravy.
Come hungry - the portions are huge.
Although it might be tempting to clean your plate, try to leave room for dessert.
Their dessert menu includes crepes, strudels, and a true German classic, the Black Forest Cake. These tasty treats are the perfect end to a memorable meal.
Evi’s Schnitzel Haus is open on Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
