This Charming Restaurant In Louisiana Is A True Hidden Gem
There are countless restaurants in Louisiana that are worthy of a pilgrimage. The Bayou State has some of the most authentic cuisine in the country and is home to incredibly talented chefs that are constantly whipping up new creations to dazzle us with. This particular restaurant certainly fits the bill, and it’s worth a road trip from just about anywhere in the state.
From the charming ambiance to the incredible cuisine, this is one restaurant that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
The building dates back to 1878, when Mr. E.N. Roth, Sr. constructed the original three-story building. The drugstore, which operated on the first floor, was opened in 1910. A doctor’s office occupied the second floor, and the third story served as living quarters. Unfortunately, the third story was destroyed during Hurricane Betsy in 1965.
You’ll still feel a wave of nostalgia wash over you as you enter the restaurant. The exposed brick and the wooden beams add an elegant charm that’s perfect for a celebratory evening.
