Woodland Farm is a 1,000-acre property in Oldham County that was purchased in 1996 in order to preserve and continue its purpose.
The farm is now on the National Register of Historic Places and is the single largest Kentucky property on the Register. The farm now raises bison, grows produce, processes lumber, and is even home to some interesting modern art.
Woodland is home to a large herd of Authentic American Bison, which are raised on the grasslands of Kentucky.
They are also raised sustainably without steroids, stimulants, and sub-therapeutic antibiotics. As you can imagine, this is rare in the business of farming, but very important to the purpose of this bison farm in Kentucky.
Pigs are also raised here and are fed from feed grown on the farm.
Woodland Farm truly stands on its own roots when it comes to almost every aspect of the property, its livestock, and gardens. The farm is also home to horses, chickens, and other wildlife.
While you would expect to find animals on a farm, you would not expect to see giant pink snails as you drive onto the property.
