Editor’s Note: Due to rising costs, the Doo-Dah Diner had to stop offering free monkey bread with each order in 2023. Thankfully, you can still purchase it, and we highly recommend it – it’s delicious!
Monkey bread is pretty delicious: it’s a Jewish-Hungarian sweet bread that’s pulled apart and eaten like a monkey would. Covered in cinnamon and sugar, it’s a sweet treat that’s beloved by pretty much anyone with a sweet tooth. When it comes to monkey bread in Kansas, one place reigns supreme: the Doo-Dah Diner in Wichita. This place is a local gem that’s beloved by all who come across it. The lines to get served are often lengthy, but it’s all worth it when you taste the incredible home-cooked food paired up with a side of monkey bread.
The Doo-Dah Diner is as unassuming as they come, but it's such a homey spot that it's tough to not fall in love from the first visit.
The restaurant just celebrated its 10th anniversary. It's attracted all kinds of celebrities over the years, from local basketball stars to actor Harrison Ford.
Unfortunately, due to rising costs, the Doo Dah Diner has recently had to stop the complimentary monkey bread, but you can still order it and you'll definitely want to - it's delicious!

Don't get too full, though: the menu is full of delicious options, including burgers, salads, and more.
If you're not from the area and curious about the name, Doo-Dah is a nickname for the city of Wichita. While the exact origins are unknown, it's been around for decades and is most likely a reference to the city's laid-back atmosphere.
