The Cache River Basin Vineyard & Winery is a Southern Illinois oases that not many know about. It has been around since 2001 and is situated among the hills of the Shawnee National Forest.

This three-in-one wine resort includes a vineyard, restaurant, and cabins to rent. It is the perfect little getaway for summer that is great for romantic trips.

The winery is known for delicious red and white vino, all of which have interesting names like Cache River Swamp Water, Star Night Bright, Catawba, and Code Red. Whether you like it red or white, sweet or dry, this place will have a wine for you.

In addition to the vineyards, the grounds also include a wetlands pond that attracts all sorts of wildlife.

This place also has an eatery called Wineaux Restaurant, which is open three days a week. Guests enjoy salads, chicken, seafood, burgers, steak, and much more, including desserts, appetizers, and kids' meals.

The final draw to this wine resort is the Boondocks Cabin, which features a queen-sized bed, a full kitchen, bathroom, and TV. There is also a sauna and hot tub for overnighters to enjoy.

This gorgeous winery is open daily. Hours are 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
