If you love adventure, I strongly recommend you spend some time in Twin Falls. This town is known as being home to Shoshone Falls but it offers so much more. Located in Centennial Waterfront Park in Twin Falls is AWOL Adventure Sports, where you can choose activities your entire family will enjoy including zipline tours, scenic boat rides, paddleboard and kayak rentals, and more. It’s a family-friendly destination in Idaho where you can have an experience you will never forget.
Many city parks around Idaho are perfect for a day trip. However, one of our favorites is Centennial Waterfront Park. Located on the northern end of Twin Falls and next to the Snake River, this park not only offers direct access to the water but it is home to hiking trails, picnic areas, and more.
For something relaxing, scenic, and perfect for adults and children alike, you can take a pontoon boat tour with AWOL Adventure Sports to Pillar Falls. This boat ride will take you through the Snake River Canyon and past many incredible sights including the Perrine Memorial Bridge. The ride is between 70 to 90 minutes long and reservations are required.
For older children, teens, and adults, you can have a once-in-a-lifetime experience as you take a kayak tour to Shoshone Falls. You will enjoy a relaxing boat ride for approximately 2 miles in the Snake River to reach Pillar Falls. Then, you will hop in a kayak and paddle 4 miles round trip to see Shoshone Falls, one of the most well-known waterfalls in Idaho.
This is a seasonal activity and only available during certain times of the year. You will want to follow the AWOL Adventure Sports website for availability.
Plus, if you want to explore on your own, kayak and paddleboard rentals are available from AWOL Adventure Sports, allowing you to hop right in the water from the park.
On this tour, you will travel up to 25 miles per hour on a four-line zipline course in Centennial Park. You will travel through the Snake River Canyon and not only enjoy breathtaking views but you’ll also learn all about the history and geology of the area. Tours last approximately one to two hours. All guests must weigh between 260 pounds and 50 pounds.
Centennial Waterfront Park is a family-friendly destination where you can enjoy a scenic boat ride, kayak, and zipline. It’s a day trip destination that individuals of all ages will enjoy.
