Labor Day has come and gone, the weather is finally cooling down, and the leaves are gradually starting to change. It seems like we can finally say goodbye to summer, and that means saying hello to one of the most beautiful times to be in Idaho. Fall is especially magical for many reasons, but the changing of the leaves from their luscious green to golden yellows and crimson reds is by far the most amazing. Thanks to this interactive map from Smoky Mountains, you can now know exactly when to see fall colors in Idaho.

As you can see on the interactive Smoky Mountains map, a large portion of central and southern Idaho will be either at or just past peak by October 10.

During this time, places like Boise and Sun Valley are likely to see a wide variety of Idaho fall foliage.
The map warns that there is no real way to be 100 percent accurate when it comes to predicting fall foliage viewing times. It all depends on what type of year it is.

However, it's a pretty good place to start when looking for that specific place to see peak foliage in Idaho.

After you’ve found your way out, you can say hello to the farm animals and munch on a sweet treat. Lowe Family Farmstead is another wonderful pumpkin patch. This exciting attraction is located in Kuna, Idaho, and it’s packed with adventure. In addition to the hay rides, potato sack slide, and yard games, this farm has a spooky Halloween-themed attraction called The Field Of Screams. Are you brave enough to explore it?

Where can I see the best fall foliage in Idaho?

No matter where you go in this fine state, you’re certain to come across some stunning colors this season. If you need some ideas, venture to Yellowstone National Park. This giant natural area is famous for a reason. As you hike along the peaceful trails, autumn beauty will wash over you. Another great place to visit is the Palisades Reservoir. Bring your camera! You’ll want to cherish these sights forever. The Idaho Wine Country also boasts incredible autumn views. Sit back with a glass of red wine and watch the leaves blow in the crisp fall breezes. These views will make you fall in love with Idaho all over again. Oh, and if you've never experienced Idaho's amazing state parks in the fall, you absolutely should!

Idaho is full of fun fall festivities. In addition to leaf peeping, you can attend a spectacular harvest festival. The Idaho Botanical Garden hosts a gorgeous event in early October every year. This scenic festival features delicious food, drinks, and an interactive station just for kids. There’s also a wonderful street fair in Emmet, Idaho every year. With craft vendors, live music, and seasonal treats, this festival is a can’t-miss event.
