Wake Up To Stunning Views Of Diamond Head At This Affordable Hawaii Hotel
Located along Oahu’s southern shore is perhaps one of the most famous beach vacation destinations in the world: Waikiki. Located within Honolulu city limits and bound by Ala Wai Canal to the north and west, Kapahulu Avenue to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the south, Waikiki is the most popular destination in Hawaii for beach-bumming, shopping, dining, entertainment, and activities, and is packed with luxury resorts and hotels.
And while there are countless hotels along Waikiki Beach that might offer partial views of Diamond Head (from certain rooms only, of course), there is only one hotel that offers spectacular views of Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, downtown Honolulu, and the famous Waikiki Beach: the Queen Kapiolani Hotel.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
Named after the beloved wife of Hawaii’s last reigning King, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is located at the eastern end of Waikiki, just steps away from some of Honolulu’s best attractions, including the Honolulu Zoo, the Waikiki Aquarium, Kapiolani Park, and the world-famous Waikiki Beach. Oh, and of course, serving as a backdrop to the hotel - and these fine attractions - is perhaps Hawaii’s most notorious landmark: Diamond Head.
In room amenities include air conditioning, cable television, refrigerator, telephone voicemail, complimentary in-room safe, and coffee. Some rooms are also equipped with kitchenettes, including a stovetop and microwave.
The real amenities, however, are found outside of your room: you’ll love lounging on the sundeck, or indulging in a cool dip in the swimming pool, which in my humble opinion, has the best views of Diamond Head anywhere on the property.
From basic rooms to penthouse suites with ocean views, the Queen Kapiolani is one of the most affordable (yet still comfortable) hotels in Waikiki, with rooms starting at just $99 per night.
What the 19-story hotel is lacking in luxury amenities, it makes up for with incredible, panoramic views of Diamond Head and a central Waikiki location. After all, the hotel is just three blocks from the beach, and if you’re spending your entire Oahu vacation inside, you’re doing it wrong.
