Solly’s has a long history. It first opened in 1936, founded by Kenneth “Solly” Salmon. The restaurant was originally called Solly's Coffee Shop.

Solly’s was located in Milwaukee before relocating to Glendale in 1971. Eventually the whole restaurant building moved one final time– by truck – to its current location a short distance down the street.

The restaurant does its part to support Wisconsin’s dairy industry – it goes through thousands of pounds of butter making these special burgers.

The burgers are a masterpiece. They are made with 100 percent sirloin beef that’s delivered fresh daily from a local butcher. The burgers are cooked with a generous amount of local creamery butter.

The sides are pretty great too and include delicious fries and onion rings

Everything here is done in a classic, delicious way. The restaurant serves homemade cherry pies and cherry shakes and malts that are made with Wisconsin Door County cherries. The shakes and malts are served up in steel cans.

Solly’s Grille is open daily, and if you arrive early, you can start your day with a Solly’s farm-style breakfast. The breakfast menu includes pancakes, hash browns, and omelets.
