Purple Door Ice Cream is owned and operated by Lauren and Steve Schultz. They are educators who took their creativity from the classroom to the kitchen and developed some amazing ice cream flavors – more than 50 in all.
You can try many of them at Purple Door’s Scoop Shop in the historic Walker's point area of Milwaukee.
There’s a lot to choose from in the case, including standards like mint chip, chocolate and strawberry and items you can save for later.
Some ice cream flavors are a little more exotic, including “Beer and Pretzels.” This creamy concoction is studded with chocolate covered pretzels. But that’s not all.
The ice cream also has a healthy dose of Eastside Dark. Yep, its made with the very beer that’s brewed by Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery. It's a match made in heaven.
Kids may want to go for another flavor, but for the rest of us, this new way of enjoying a cold Wisconsin beer is as good as it gets.
Purple Door’s Walker's Point Scoop Shop and Production Kitchen typically has 20 flavors on tap, with flavors rotating daily. You can watch the ice cream being made through a production area window. The ice cream is also available at Milwaukee’s Sherman Phoenix Building and Mequon Public Market.
